The project aim consists in gaining a better understanding of the interplay between recognition and marginalization with regard to the situation of women professors after their appointment to a permanent position.
- How do women professors experience their everyday life at the university?
- Which action strategies become visible, and which resources can be developed and used?
- How are positions negotiated in the daily routine of university life and within the bodies and fora of academic self-governance?
- Which possibilities do they have to shape academic institutions, and which opportunities do they have to gain leadership positions?
The research design of the project thus takes a resource-oriented approach, at the heart of which lies an interest in potential starting points for increasing women professors’ institutional power.
